Before I left, the thing I doubted most was myself
Before studying abroad, I was scared my English wouldn't be good enough, that it'd be hard to make friends and that I just wouldn't manage on my own.
The first weeks really were full of new things, but I quickly realized most students feel the same. A few months in, I was chatting in English without thinking about it, had friends from different countries and was sorting out things I'd have asked my parents to do before.
The biggest change isn't my English or my studies. I just trust myself a lot more now.

When I left to study, I didn't know a single person in my new city. Now my closest friends are from several different countries, and a weekend trip to another city or country is a completely normal thing.

My studies have given me more than a degree
When I was choosing my studies, I wanted more than lectures and exams, so it was important for me to work on real projects and get experience while still studying.
At university we do a lot of assignments in teams and solve problems for real companies, and during my studies I got the chance to do an internship at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). It helped me understand much better what I want to do after graduation.
Now I feel that when I graduate, I'll have more than a degree: experience, international contacts and a much clearer idea of where I want to go next.
