Study Econometrics, Operations Research and Actuarial Studies in Groningen and use data science to make data-driven decisions in business and society.

Are you passionate about advanced mathematics and data science? Are you interested in designing models and using innovative research methods to solve the major issues facing business and society?
In our one-year MSc Econometrics, Operations Research and Actuarial Studies (EORAS), you will learn how to:

  • Apply mathematical and statistical models to tackle challenges in business, economics, finance, and insurance.
  • Use data science models to analyze complex data and address societal and environmental issues.
  • Analyze how firms and governments can take effective decisions when outcomes are uncertain.

Tailor your study programme :

  • Specialise in one of four unique profiles : Data Science, Operations Management, Econometrics or Actuarial Studies and Financial Econometrics.
  • Customise your programme further via elective courses.
  • Join a Master Internship in the second semester of your studies and apply what you have learned in class into practice.
  • You can study abroad by joining our double degree master’s with Fudan University in Shanghai, China .

IELTS Academic overall score 6.5 (Speaking 6, Writing 6.5); TOEFL internet-based overall score 90 (Speaking 20, Writing 24); Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency (overall score 176, Speaking 169, Writing 176); LanguageCert Academic: overall score 70 (min. 65 in Speaking, 70 in Writing); Pearson PTE Academic (min. 56 in Speaking, 70 in Writing).

 

Important requirements

To be eligible for admission to this Master, you need to hold an academic Bachelor's or Master's degree from a research university in the field of Econometrics and Operations Research.

 

Other requirements
