Studying abroad was always my goal
I had been thinking about studying abroad for a long time. I actually tried to make it happen already in 10th grade, but Covid-19 changed my plans.
After finishing school, I decided that university would be the right moment to finally take this step and start my international journey.
I chose the Netherlands almost by chance — I do not even remember the exact moment when I decided on this country. However, today I am happy with this choice.
The application process taught me to ask for help
At first, I tried to manage the whole application process on my own. However, after some time, I realised that it was difficult to balance university applications, exams, and all the other responsibilities.
That is when I decided to get support from Kastu. Their help made the process much easier and allowed me to focus on preparing for my next steps.
The first months abroad are full of new experiences
I feel like I am still in the first stage of adapting to life abroad. Time is passing very quickly because there is always something to do — lots of studying, reading, and new experiences.
Even though the beginning has required effort, I feel good and I am happy with my decision.
Freedom and a new learning experience are the biggest advantages
What I enjoy most about studying abroad is the freedom and the way of learning.
The study environment is different, and I like that I can become more independent and responsible for my own progress.
The hardest part is being away from my family and friends. I miss the possibility of seeing them whenever I want, but this is also part of becoming more independent.
My advice: start planning early
If you are thinking about studying abroad, my advice is simple: start preparing as early as possible and do not leave everything until the last moment.
Good planning will reduce stress and help you enjoy the journey towards studying abroad.
