Smart and Sustainable Design
Are you interested in sustainable and intelligent design? Do you want to learn how to design ecologically and ethically produced products and services?
The contemporary world is growing ever more environmentally conscious and technology advances with huge leaps every day. It is important that design professionals understand the importance of green values, the challenges of circular economy and know how to use and combine both traditional and modern techniques. Service design know-how and design thinking combined with business principles know-how create a good foundation for today’s designer.
In design education you can choose your major subject in clothing, footwear or glass and ceramics design. After completing your studies you will master all the steps from product design to manufacturing.
Students are selected using two selection methods:
- Admission on the basis of SAT-test results
- Admission on the basis of the points awarded for the entrance examination
Applicants can choose whether they take the SAT test or participate in the entrance examination.
- SAT test (only for IB not required) is the alternative for taking the entrance examination. Reading, writing and speaking + mathematics: https://www.studinfo.lt/egzaminai/sat (400 in reading and writing and 400 in math). Only SAT (not STA subject) is accepted. SAT scores must be sent directly to HAMK from test centre: school code 6894. Results must be submitted untill May 31
- Online entrance examination and interviews (5 times during the application). Applicants are invited to entrance examination after they submitted an kastu online application form. Applicants who passed written part of entrance exam are invited to the interview. After the interview applicants get their offer. First entrance examination is organized at the start of November and later on almost every month until May.

There is demand for the service and user experience design, where social media competence, marketing expertise and visualization expertise are combined with designer competence. People with design education are increasingly setting up their own businesses and working in a diverse range of creative industries. Professional titles include: designer, entrepreneur, product assistant, product designer, product manager, buyer, project seller and project manager.
