I first started thinking about studying abroad during my second year of Secondary School. The desire to leave my comfort zone, experience a new country, and challenge myself motivated me to explore international study opportunities. The moment that truly confirmed my decision was joining a KASTU university tour in the Netherlands. The country's cosmopolitan atmosphere, international environment, and even its cycling culture immediately made me feel that this was the place where I wanted to study.
Getting accepted to NHL Stenden University was not difficult, as long as you were motivated, organised, and committed to learning. Throughout the application process, KASTU guided me through every step, making the journey much easier and less stressful.
My first months at university were both exciting and very different from what I had expected. We had plenty of time to get to know the study system, meet our classmates, and adapt to university life. I was surprised by how much independence students are given. There is a great deal of freedom, but with that comes responsibility. Learning how to manage your own time is an essential part of the experience, and I believe it prepares students exceptionally well for both their future careers and everyday life.
If I could give one piece of advice to students considering studying abroad, it would be to keep an open mind and explore as many opportunities as possible before making your decision. Try different activities, discover what genuinely interests you, and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. If you want not only to gain knowledge but also to experience personal growth and build unforgettable international memories, studying abroad is an opportunity I would wholeheartedly recommend.
