This specialised one-year master’s programme equips you with the expertise to navigate the financial sector. You will build a solid foundation in finance and financial management, while developing the analytical and decision-making skills needed for international career opportunities.
The curriculum combines rigorous finance theory with practical applications. You will study areas such as portfolio and risk management, financial markets, derivatives, and corporate finance. A particular strength of the programme is its emphasis on empirical finance, giving you hands-on experience with financial data, state-of-the-art methods, AI, and data-driven analysis to solve advanced financial challenges.

Alongside core knowledge, you will explore current issues in finance and accounting to understand the challenges organisations face today. The strong methodological focus ensures that you graduate with broad skills in analysing financial data and applying insights into real-world situations.
At JIBS, theory and practice are closely intertwined. You will work with cases, projects, and real financial data while developing strong analytical, research, and communication skills. The programme concludes with a master’s thesis, where you apply your knowledge to a focused topic in finance, demonstrating your ability to turn theory into practice.
The applicant must hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (equivalent to 180 ECTS credits from an accredited university), including at least 30 ECTS credits in Business Administration, of which at least 15 credits must be finance and/or accounting. In addition, the applicant must have completed at least 10 credits in statistics, mathematics, econometrics, or the equivalent.
With a master’s degree in Finance from JIBS, you will be prepared for roles such as corporate finance specialist, risk analyst, asset manager, investment banker, or financial consultant. Your combination of strong analytical ability, financial expertise, and hands-on experience with data-driven methods will make you highly attractive to employers in banks, corporations, consulting firms, and international organisations.
